It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
And no, I’m talking about Christmas. I’m talking about autumn, fall. September marks the first month of the autumn season, and I, for one, am glad it’s finally here. I wait impatiently all year to experience my favorite time of the year. Some people like winter, some like summer, and some like spring. Not me. I love to see the leaves change into vibrant colors and fall to the earth. I love dressing up for Halloween and giving out candy. I love eating caramel apples and drinking apple cider, and going to pumpkin patches and enjoying the cooler weather. And don’t forget Thanksgiving and spending time with family. I love it all!
So what about you? What’s your favorite season and why?
Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. ~George Eliot
Much Love Always,

I’m with you, Rose Marie. I’ve always had a love affair with autumn (and isn’t that word nicer than “fall”?). There’s so much energy in the air mingled with a kind of melancholy and a strong urge to migrate. I feel a lot of primal pulls inside at this time of year.
And there’s nothing like cider, doughnuts, a crackling bonfire and the best holiday of the year…Halloween! The idea of dressing in costume and running around at night was even more entrancing than the candy when I was a kid. Well, almost. After trick-or-treating there was the glorious fun of separating the candy into categories while watching a horror movie. Good, good times!
Not my favourite time, I’m afraid, I hate the darker nights and the chill in the air. I suppose it comes from being a sun baby, born in the summer months. Hubby loves autumn though, except he pretends to be out when the trick or treaters come calling.
I have to say autumn too. The weather is nice, my birthday is in autumn, as is my favorite holiday, Samhain!

Although I love spring and summer I have to agree Fall is my favorite time of year. I just don’t like what follows here in the Northeast! Although my children are grown I love Halloween and the little ones. A nip in the air and marshmallows, pumpkin pie and hot coffee…mmm…. To this day when the cartoon, Ichabod Crane and the headless horseman is on I sit down and watch it! My kids loved that. It’s a time for friends and family, being just a little scared and the chill brings people together which is really what it’s all about.

I’m with you! I love the summer. The sun, the surf and my garden filled with vibrant colors. When the snow falls in the winter there is such a feeling of peacefulness—a quiet and the surroundings are bathed in white. Springtime has a certain scent. To me, it smells green. BUT in Autumn Mother Nature kicks up the volume turning the trees into eye candy.
Bonfires, Samhain (the holiday ;-), pumpkins, mums and caramel apple pie. It’s a delicious season for all the senses.

I was born in the summer, just a week after the solstice and it should be my favorite time of year with the memories of birthdays and time off from school, but it’s not. Summer is wonderful but it lacks the magic of Autumn.
Halloween has been my favorite holiday since I can remember. The Halloween season starts September 1st in my home, with the stores on my side of town getting in on things by the 10th, so it’s a neighborhood celebration. :)
From the building excitement of Halloween, to the cooling temperatures and chance to snuggle up, to the explosion of colors upon the trees, and the environmental feel of coming slumber, Autumn is a time of change that caters to all five senses and whatever sixth sense is nurtured within us. As great as the other seasons are, they just don’t compare.
Great to see so many others who have their love of it too. Thanks Rose for speaking on it. :)
