My New Year's Resolutions
Every year around this time, I resolve to be a better person by making New Year’s Resolutions. But lately I’ve been thinking. Why do I bother to make resolutions when some time around February they’re all shot to hell?
Is this simply a futile exercise in wishful thinking?
Probably. But I think they’re a necessary tradition. New Year’s Resolutions make us aware of the things we need to improve in our lives like our eating habits, or how we treat others and most especially, how to accomplish certain goals we set for ourselves.
Maybe I’ll blow these resolutions like I do every year, but every journey begins with one footstep. So here they go:
1. Eat healthier
2. Exercise more
3. Less procrastination
4. No more flipping off other motorists in a fit of road rage
5. Try to be nice to my sister-in-law
6. Tighten my writing schedule
7. Volunteer more
Number 2 and 5 will probably be my biggest tests in the 08, but I’m up for the challenge!!
Are you making New Year’s Resolutions for 2008?

Oh, I hate making resolutions, but… oh well, I need something to break. LOL!
No, actually, I hope I don’t break these: 1) get back on my aerobic schedule, 2) spend less time on the interent and more time writing (EEK, that’s going to be a hard habit to break), 3) read my Bible more, and 4) get at least two submissions out the door this coming year.
I’m up for the challenge, too! :)
I actually stop making resolutions years ago and just went with the flow of things. If I were to make one, it would be to have a better year than the last. So far as long as I don’t commit myself to drastic changes each year seems to be getting better. Now healthwise is another issue and not much there to be change. So here’s to having a better year than the last. Forget being nice to those who won’t change their ways! As I get older I say what I need to and ignore the rest when necessary.
sigh… New Years Resolution huh???? Ummm, ok, here goes
1. cut out soda – I drink entirely too much of the stuff and feel much better if I’m drinking something else so just need to quit buying it so its not in the house and I’ll be doing good.
2. finish some of my cross stitch projects – aw yes, I am the queen of unfinished projects!
3. learn how to drive – yep I’m 37 and do not know how to drive – just never learned
see nothing too painful and all doable – I think! :)
