My confession
I have a weakness, something I can’t seem to live without lately. It’s rather embarrassing to admit but I’m going to go ahead and shout it out loud and proud on the Samhain weblog.
I’m addicted to reality TV. America’s Next Top Model to be exact.

Yes ANTM. What a show! How can you resist thirteen beautiful girls locked up in a gorgeous house? Watching the girls go on glamorous photo shoots, involved in minor (or major) arguments, fighting for that one coveted spot, to be the next TOP MODEL?
My favorite episode of every season is the makeover one when girls are crying, hair is getting cut, dyed, shaved! Fun stuff.
So why am I choosing to blog about ANTM? Well, I am smack in the middle of a marathon of it on VH1. I’m able to watch those two seasons I missed (why did I skip them? what was wrong with me?) and I can’t. Stop. Watching.
Writing? What writing? I planned on doing that but um, the television got in the way instead. Shame on me!
We’re all going to have to get used to seeing more reality shows on TV anyway. Since the writer’s strike is still going strong, the networks have to fill the dead air with something. And that something is reality shows.
As I find myself immersed in the ANTM marathon, VH1 keeps showing commercials for their new reality shows. My Fair Brady! Rock of Love II! Some sort of reality addiction show that looks downright painful to watch! Oh the madness!
So please tell me I’m not alone. Heck, I know I’m not alone. Reality shows have been on the air for many years now and they aren’t slowing down. Come on admit your favorite reality show. It can be our little secret.
Now excuse me while I go watch Celebrity Apprentice on the DVR...

America’s Next Top Model? LOL!
Actually, I shouldn’t laugh. I am so doomed when American Idol comes back on TV. There will be NO writing on those evenings. LOL!
Oooh, I go through stages with AI. One season I love it, the next season I don’t watch it, can’t stand it. I’m on the fence right now. We’ll see how I feel come mid January….
:)
I completely ignore my DH on Wednesday nights: Ghost Hunters and Project Runway! If he wants anything (like a coherent answer to a question) he waits for the commercials. :)
Ghost Hunters is my big deal right now. Then American Idol and that new dance show with Carrie Ann and Bruno from Dancing With the Stars. I’m so bad with AI that I’ve been watching American Idol Rewind.
Don’t tell Ames I was here, okay?
Is Ghost Hunters good? Ack! Stop me from asking right now! If I add more things to my line up I’ll never get any writing done! LOL
Bailey I would never tell Ames you were here. Hee…
Okay I’m not a television person much. But Pushing Daisies hooks me. Big time. And if I watch reality tv, it’s ANTM. That show is like crack. You can’t look away.
“How day you call me bulimic, you bony b*tch!”
Ghost Hunters is awesome, Dennie and I are so hooked we’ve myspaced friended most of them.
(sneaking back to do what I’m supposed to be doing)
You are not alone. I LOVE that show and I have watch a couple of seasons more than once! I LOVE the photo shoots.
I’ve gotten hooked on Project Runway lately – I know, I know, I’m always several seasons late on the hot “new” thing. But Bravo had a marathon over New Year’s, and I’m caught. Sigh. And my evenings have been so quiet since the Daily Show and Colbert Report went dark…
Bailey I must resist the urge to check it out. Must resist…(but I’m very weak so I will probably check it out!)
Jambrea I can watch old seasons too, no problem. In fact I did that yesterfday afternoon (yes, I watched it practically all day, it was ridiculous) and there were a couple of episodes where I’m like, “Did I actually watch this one? I don’t remember this!”
I’ve never watched Project Runway Kate tho I’ve heard it’s great. See those marathons are a killer!!!
I only recently started watching the Sci-Fi channel (that’s my way of telling you it’s on the sci-fi channel gg), and they show four hours of it (usually one new show and the others repeats, but now their season is over so it’s all repeats) so that’s how I spend my Wednesday nights (can you figure out it’s on Wednesday?).
I cut my finger and it’s Ames’ fault.
I’m also addicted to America’s Next Top Model. Of course, we get it later than you guys in the US (not because we Aussie are slow, just a looooooooong way away *grin). We’ve only just had the make-over episode of the current season played here and I loved it! Bianca looked gorgeous bald!! Absolutely gorgeous!
I’m right there with you Karen. I watch ANTM too. Me and my girls LOVE it. It’s the only reality TV I watch actually.
Lexxie didn’t Bianca look wonderful bald? She has a gorgeous face but a nasty little personality. And that’s all I’m going to say about that cos you’ll find out more as the season goes on…. ;)
Thanks for dropping those hints Bailey. You know I’m gonna go check it out. So weak, I am. And I just sounded like Yoda with that last sentence.
Lyric, my four year old daughter loves it! She told me she wants to be a top model someday! I wanted to say “Oh how sweet” and “Over my dead body” all at the same time!
