Do you wanna meet a rock star?
Nope….not me….
But I love to meet authors! In fact, I have a list of authors I’d walk ten miles in the snow to meet.
I’m fortunate that in my ‘day’ job as a high school librarian I have the opportunity to attend conferences where young adult/adult authors are featured. In my decade-long career, I’ve had the chance to meet and talk to some great writers.
I once spent nearly an hour sitting at a table talking to Will Hobbs (his knee touched mine—twice!). He is a marvelous writer whose books appeal to teenage boys (think Gary Paulsen/S.E. Hinton). I followed Sharyn McCrumb (an incredible Appalachian author) up the stairs at a hotel one night. I was so star-struck I couldn’t even say hello and I’m still kicking myself for the missed opportunity. I have a picture of me with Diana Gabaldon (author of the Outlander series) hanging in my office. She was AMAZING to talk to! I cyber-met Claire Thompson in the Samhain cafe (and through e-mail). Talk about a sweetie-pie!
Other authors on my dream meet list include Janet Evanovich, Stephenie Meyer, Lora Leigh, and I can tell you right now, if I ever see J.K. Rowling, I will kiss that woman right smack on the mouth—I love her Harry Potter books that much!
So I’m wondering….which authors would you love to meet?

I would love to meet Nora Roberts and Janet Evanovitch.
I’d love to meet Heather Graham. Not sure I’d be too coherent, but it would be a great memory! ;)

Romance authors Sherrilyn Kenyon and Karen Marie Moening would be top on my list.
Sherrilyn Kenyon is coming to the Australian Romance Readers Convention in Melbourne next year. Can’t wait. I’ll be the creepy woman right behind her at all times, shadowing her every move…

I’d LOVE to meet Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I have a feeling she’d just crack me up. :)
Hey Mari,
First on my list would have to be my fabulous CP, Mari Carr. Then would come Nora Roberts, Sharon Sala, Susan Mallery, Linda Lael Miller, Karen Robards, JoAnn Ross, I think I should stop now or I’ll run out of room. LOL

I’d love to meet Karen Marie Moning. But at the top of my list…Stephen King. I think I’d faint G.
