Carolina Wolf is out today!

There are no wolves in South Carolina.

But no one ever said anything about werewolves…

Carolina Wolf

Librarian Debra Henry is boring. And she’s okay with that. Really. It’s not as if the teensy amount of witchcraft that flows in her veins is worth getting excited about. Yet someone—or something—thinks it’s worth crawling out of the swamps to attack her. Those “somethings” are werewolves.

When one of them is hurt saving her, the least she can do is take him home and patch him up. Healing him stirs more than her senses. Maddox Moreau awakens the magic that sleeps in her blood. And suddenly, life’s not quite so boring.

A wildlife manager at Congaree National Park by day, Maddox likes being the BWIS—Big Wolf In the Swamp. By night, he lets his wild side out to play lone wolf. At least until he meets the one woman who can share his soul. Perhaps it’s best, though, if he holds off on sharing his preference for raw meat.

Rescuing her seals his fate—but only if he can protect her from a rogue of his kind. A werewolf with a nasty stalker streak…

Warning: This story contains hunky werewolves, librarian fetishes, Southern humor, smart-ass women and men who think that’s sexy, magic, medieval legends, disco music and flatulent Boxers. (The dogs, not the underwear.)

And for more about where this story came from…

CAROLINA WOLF started with a setting. Actually, it started with a map.

We were just getting ready to return stateside after a tour in the UK and DH came home with orders for South Carolina. Fine with me, I figured. At least I’ll finally get warm. So we spent the next few weeks spending time getting to know our next home courtesy of Google Maps and Google Earth.

I noticed a big blank spot near Columbia and zoomed in. It turned out to be the Congaree National Park. Or the Congaree National Monument. Or just the Congaree Swamp, according to the locals.

Well, well. A real live swamp. And so close to our new home! That’s really all it took for the wheels to start spinning. I started writing even before we finished packing.

My first visit to the Congaree Swamp confirmed everything I had imagined. Mosquitoes? Check. Black water swamp (oh, pardon me. I mean wetland.)? Check. Cypresses? Check. More fricking mosquitoes? Double check.

The one thing it lacked was the sound of a lone wolf’s howl. Not anymore! Welcome to Culford, South Carolina. A fictional little town that backs right up to the very real national park and features its very own collection of creatures that howl in the swamp.

I hope you enjoy Debra and Maddox’s adventures as they discover that All it takes is a spark of Grrrrrl power to set the swamp on fire!
