Dreamy, Steamy Shape-Shifters
What if you had a shot at just one wild night with the man of your dreams, the one you always thought was out of reach? What would happen if a dream lover you thought was nothing more than a nocturnal fantasy showed up in real life? What if you found out the guy you’d been dreaming about since you were sixteen had been dreaming about you all along?
Kinsey W. Holley, Robie Madison, and I (Hi, I’m Vivi Andrews) tackle these and other “dreamy” questions in our new Shifting Dreams novellas, out today in ebook!

In Your Dreams, Baby
You know that dream man, that unattainable Mr. Perfect? Maybe it’s the boy next door or a mouth-watering star up on the silver-screen. It could be his abs of steel, those boyish dimples or the naughty glint in his eyes that really does it for you. Whatever turns your crank, I’m willing to bet there’s a dream man out there who is your personal kryptonite, and who is just barely out of reach.
For Ava Minor, the shape-shifting lioness in my new release Serengeti Heat, that personalized kryptonite is Landon King, who has the body of a gladiator (anyone see The 300? Excuse me while I take a moment to fan myself. Ahem, where was I?) and the arrogant dominance of a man who knows he was born to rule, tempered by a surprising humanitarian streak.
But what puts Landon out of Ava’s league (at least in her mind) is the fact that he is the new Alpha of her pride. Landon’s mate has to be strong, fast, and dominant – all the things Ava isn’t. Luckily, Ava’s Mr. Perfect has a very different idea of what he needs in a mate… and she’s about to have the wildest night of her life.
That’s the beauty of being an author. I may not get to walk off into the sunset with Ryan Reynolds, but Ava’s unattainable dream man isn’t as far out of reach as she thinks.
Who’s your unattainable (or attainable, if you want to make me jealous) dream man?

Who’s In Your Dreams?
Sometimes our subconscious “assigns” people we know from our “real” life to play a role in our “dream” life. Sometimes our dreams are populated by “dream” people.
Megan Jones has a “dream” man who visits her regularly. All she knows is his first name— Owain, and what he looks like—square jaw, aquiline nose, deep blue eyes, black hair, well-toned body. A body she knows every inch of because Owain is her dream lover. Her private fantasy. Her nocturnal naughty secret.
There’s only one problem with Megan’s perception of her private night life—Owain is very real. Oh, and he’s not quite human. And if you’ve seen The Man of Her Dreams book cover, I’ll tell you right now, he’s not really a horse either. :)
I had a lot of fun using the dream work I’ve been studying for the past few years to write Megan and Owain’s story. It gave me a chance to explore the question—what happens when a “dream” person shows up in “real” life?

All She’s Ever Dreamed Of
Did you have a dream guy when you were a teenager? Maybe it was a movie star, maybe it was someone at school. Whoever it was, I bet you still remember his name. My sister’s was Jon Bon Jovi. Mine was Robbie Lazaro. He was the quarterback of our small town’s only high school (hey, clichés get to be clichés for a reason).
One thing we probably all have in common is that our dream guys changed over the years. Is there anything more fickle than a teenage girl? Can any of us say we’re still in love with the guy we dreamed about when we were sixteen?
Lark Manning can. Lark fell hopelessly in love with Taran Lloyd when she was sixteen. Ten years later, she’s just as in love, and it’s just as hopeless.
Taran, a sexy alpha werewolf, is her Uncle David’s stepson. Her Aunt Meg’s son. Her cousin’s step brother. Whatever he is, he’s all she’s ever wanted, and he rarely bothers to notice her.
One night, when Lark is almost kidnapped by some sleazy werewolves, Taran is there to save her. Suddenly he’s not ignoring her any more, and she begins to realize that he’s been dreaming of her…
I’m a sucker for a romance where the hero and the heroine have known each other for a while, but then find they didn’t know each other at all. I started Kiss and Kin with this vague notion of one good werewolf, a whole bunch of bad ones, a woman and a bar. But why, I thought, did the good werewolf decide to save the woman from the bad ones? Aha – of course. He already knows her. He already loves her.
I knew the story was working when my sister – never easy to please – said she loved Taran.
Come to think of it, thirty years later, she’s still in love with Jon Bon Jovi, too.

I must not be over my shapeshifter binge because I read this and immediately went and got them. I am such a sucker for these collections at Samhain. ;)
Thank you Bev! I hope you like them.
Thanks for posting the excerpt for me, Viv, I really appreciate it. I couldn’t wait to get home and look at the website. I won’t come to Samhain from work, LOL…
Congratulations Vivi, the book looks sumptuous.
Oooh, sumptuous. Thank you, Sami. What a wonderful compliment! Dontcha just love the look of the covers? Sumptuous, indeed.
