Slightly Foxed Book Cover ImageHi. You may not have heard of me, unless you are a regular around the more sleazy parts of Britain, but I am a romantic novelist. Well, duh, I hear you say, I’m reading the Samhain weblog, I was hardly expecting to hear a radical expose on the subject of goldfish breeding, but there you go. It’s always best to introduce yourself first. So here I am. Hello. I’d wave but I can’t find the HTML for waving.

My latest novel, Slightly Foxed, is out in paperback. It’s a tale of… ooh, lots of things but central is a romance between an, ahem, older lady and a younger man. She’s not that old – thirty six isn’t old, is it? I was thirty six and I don’t remember being old. Mind you, I don’t remember much these days. That’s why my children have got used to being summoned by one, all-purpose name, and I keep buying tinned beans.

Anyway. Where was I? Ah yes, the book. Older woman, younger (and very pretty) man. But it takes them a while to get to know one another. Much like, in real life, my husband and I took a while to get together. He too is a younger man. Because I needed someone who could remember the children’s names and tell me to stop buying beans. I believe the best kind of romance is where the couple know one another as friends before they start getting jiggy. It makes for a more realistic pairing, where the reader can actually believe that these two will make it rather than wondering what will happen when the lust wears off.

Anyway. That’s the book. Must go now. Inexplicable urge to buy beans. Tinned beans…
