Is That You?
Anyone who writes hot, erotic romance knows full well the type of questions we’re sometimes asked. The first one is often why do I even write romance. That one is closely followed by a lift of the eyebrows, a smirk, and a desire to know if I’ve actually participated in the sex acts that are featured in my stories, all in the name of research, of course. I’m sure most of you have heard it all before.
Happy New Year

Happy New Year, everyone!
I can’t believe how fast this year has gone. A blink of the eye and here we are sitting on the cusp of a new year. I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and that you’re all enjoying your holidays.
The overloaded mind
My little grandson has just been diagnosed with PDD, or Pervasive Development Disorder, which is part of the Autism Spectrum Disorders. It has been devastating for the family, in particular his mom. Trying to come up with ways to make life easier for this child, learning to handle him so he doesn’t have a meltdown, finding out what makes him feel secure and happy—it’s all a learning curve right now. One of the problems he has is that this world is too fast for him. He needs time to process things before he can react, otherwise his brain overloads and he just can’t cope.
Back to Basics!
I’ve had a hard time writing over the past ten months or so, what with family problems and my own health issues. I was getting more and more frustrated as time went on. As a result, my writing was suffering. When I did have the time and inclination to sit down at the computer, I found myself staring at a blank screen without the slightest idea of what I wanted to put up there. I confined myself to doing novellas for the time being. Not that there’s anything wrong with novellas, but I hungered to get back to writing full-length stories. Something I could really get my teeth into.
What A Morning!!
I’m sure you’ve all had mornings where you shake your head and wonder just what you’ve gotten yourself into. That’s how my mornings have played out for the last few days. Most of you know when I’m not writing I run a motel. Let me tell you, being in the hospitality industry is not all beer and skittles. Sometimes it’s a pain in the butt, dealing with all the differing characters who come through this place.
Kickass Heroines
I’m probably a bit older than a lot of you out there. Lol In fact I know I am. I grew up watching the women from my mother’s era. How they interacted with the men in their lives. When my dad said jump, my mother pretty much asked how high. Dad was the boss in that household.
Lessons Learned
You ever feel guilty when you know you should be doing something, but find yourself procrastinating? That’s how I’ve been feeling. Guilty as heck because I’ve not been getting enough writing done.

Turning a Bad Review into Something Good
As writers, we all want to get a good review of our work. We crave it. Hunger for it. We need validation and reviews do that. Well, they do if they’re good reviews. But we all know we can’t please all of the people all of the time. Our reading tastes vary so much that what one person finds enjoyable another is going to hate. shrug Fact of life.
Mortified Matchmaker by Alexis Fleming
An old-fashioned undertaker who asks for lessons in what turns a woman on…what more could any teacher ask for?
When circumstances force kindergarten teacher Melissa Morgan to take her twin sister’s place as proprietor of a dating agency, the last thing she expects is to meet a funeral director in desperate need of lessons in what a woman wants. Despite his quirky behavior and antiquated ideas, Matthew Campbell pushes every one of Melissa’s buttons and it’s not long before the lessons become more important than finding Matthew a mate.
But how will Melissa react when she finds out Matthew is an undercover federal agent in pursuit of a blackmailer and she’s the prime suspect?
