The Day the World Changed
I’m both honored and humbled to be blogging here today – you see, I’m still somewhat of an emotional mush when it comes to September 11th. Seven years ago today, of course, the world as we knew it shifted.
Everything Can Change in 24 Hours...
It’s release day for One Night in Memphis! Now, I know you could read the blurb:
It's Release Week in Boston!
Well, sort of. My first-ever contracted novel releases in print this Tuesday, May 27! Have you read One Night in Boston yet? Here’s the blurb, to whet your appetite…
Who's Your Hero?
It inevitably happens: I’m sitting at my computer, struggling through the first draft of a new story, and he walks by. He stops, looks over my shoulder, reads a few lines, and asks, “Are you writing about me?”
Happy Holidays to our Furry Friends
Recently, our Samhain executive editor, Angie James, had to say goodbye to her cat Oliver. My good cyber-friend and new Samhain author, Marianne, did the same to her dog Bailey a month ago. I spent a week last summer watching my beloved cat Smooch suffer through congestive heart failure. It can be devastating to experience the illness or loss of a pet, and yet it’s remarkable how our furry friends touch our lives, isn’t it?
The Virtual Playground
When we were kids, we did it on the playground. When we were teens, we did it in – or after – school. When we got to college, we did it at parties, or sometimes in the library or the dining hall over brunch. As adults, it became harder: more responsibilities, and less free time. But somehow we managed to sneak it in, between 9-to-5 jobs and breastfeeding and soccer matches. Still, it wasn’t easy, and sometimes it seemed more effort than it was really worth.
Can Anything Change in 24 Hours? Can Everything?
Can anything change in 24 hours? Can everything??
I’m thrilled to announce that my contemporary romance novel, One Night in Boston, debuts today to explore this very concept. A big thanks to my editor, Sarah P., for all her insight and patience in polishing this novel, and my cover artist, Dawn S., for a terrific cover creation.
What can you expect from One Night in Boston? A heroine who’s about to lose everything unless she faces the ghosts of her past; a hero who realizes on the eve of his wedding that he might be making the biggest mistake of his life; and 24 hours that unfold in 24 chapters to find out whether a stormy night in Boston will prevent both of them from finding out what really matters.
The Moment Everything Changed
A feng shui consultant might say my bagua was balanced.
Rhonda Byrne, author of The Secret, would probably tell me my vibrations manifested themselves to attract success.
A Buddhist would tell me it’s karma, plain and simple.
A skeptic would say I’m just lucky.
