My Life is Chaos
Who has time to take a break these days? I so don’t. Lately my world—which used to be rather orderly—has been scattered and rushed and filled with chaos. It’s to the point where I’m now forgetting things and am forced to write things down. Write things down? I used to tease my mom about having to do that! Boy, things do tend to bite you in the butt, don’t they?
Touching Lace--new release!

Howdy Folks!
I’m very excited about my newest Samhain release. Come on, just look at that cover! Isn’t it romantic? Scott Carpenter is amazing! Thank you, Scott!
You may not be aware of this, but Touching Lace is the start of a two book (maybe more) series. The next in the Vaughn Series, Tasting Candy, comes out in June. Both stories will be in a single author anthology next year. Yay!
Why is this particular story so important to me? First, I’ve always loved reading best friends to lovers stories. I guess because my husband and I are best friends, so it seemed natural for me to write that type of romance. Also, Lacey’s fear of being inadequate in the bedroom is something I think a lot of women can relate to and the way Nick goes about helping her is nothing short of genius on his part. Men are very resourceful when they see something they want, aren’t they? And Nick really wants Lacey. He’s waited long enough and when he sees his chance he dives right in. Just like a man! lol
Here’s a blurb:
My addiction to Tragic Heroes
I always feel I should start as if I’m admitting an addiction when I talk about J. R. Ward or Christine Feehan’s books. I can’t get enough of them! Every time I do a re’read I think to myself, “this is the very last time I’m reading this series. Truly!” Then I go right back to the beginning and start all over again. It’s like eating chocolate. You tell yourself you’re going to cut back, but you know you’re just lying to yourself. You can’t live without it. Well, okay, you could but who would want to ?
I just re’read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series…again. I always think Wrath is my favorite. He has so many responsibilities and my heart goes out to him. Then I read Rhage’s book and I’m taken in by his beast and his total devotion to Mary is something that tugs at my heartstrings. Yes, yes, Rhage is my favorite. Then I read Z’s book and I’m in awe at this big, brooding hero who thinks he’s unworthy of Bella’s love. No, I was mistaken, Z is definitely my favorite, and that’s my final decision. Then I read Butch. Uh-huh, I’m kidding myself. It’s like when I’m at Tim Horton’s picking out donuts. I’m never going to able to choose just one kind of donut. I’ve got to have a variety!
And then there’s Feehan’s Carpathians. Let’s face it, she really is the queen of tragic heroes. Am I wrong? Anyone who’s read Dark Desire knows exactly what I mean. I cry, I laugh and I sigh every single time I read Jacques story. As a writer I marvel that Feehan has managed to keep that series so strong for such a long time. As I reader I just know I’ll cease to exist should she ever decide to quit writing about those hunky blood suckers!
For me, I’m sure the allure is the tragic hero bit. I’ve always gone for the dark brooding man. From Jane Eyre to Phantom of the Opera, the tortured male soul just screams to be loved and nurtured, right?
What do you think? DO you love those tortmented men? Why do you think they’re so appealing?
