Work In Progress - Possible Spoiler! Be Warned. ;)

Posted by Bianca D'Arc, 05/07/08 07:00 AM

FireDrake by Bianca D'ArcMy turn to blog. Great! It just so happens, I have a new book coming out next week, but instead of making this a big promotional post, I’ll just say please check out FireDrake when it comes out next Tuesday. (Isn’t that a gorgeous cover?) ;) In the meantime, I thought I’d talk a bit about the book I’m finishing up right now — or at least trying to finish up. The next installment in my Resonance Mates series (that started with Hara’s Legacy and Davin’s Quest) is nearing completion. The book is called Jaci’s Experiment and is due to release in ebook formats from Samhain this August. Which means, I really need to finish writing it, like yesterday! But with one thing and another… the most time-consuming of which had to be the Romantic Times Convention a few weeks ago… well, I’m running a little behind. Which I hate. But not to worry! The book is moving right along with some really interesting characters that showed up and demanded to be included along the way.

Davin's Quest - Available Today!

Posted by Bianca D'Arc, 02/19/08 09:55 AM

I’m very excited to see Davin’s Quest up on the front page of the Samhain website! This book is the second in a very hot futuristic series that started with Hara’s Legacy, which is coming out in print any day now. Davin’s Quest is a little different than my other books because one of the lead characters is an alien from another planet. He’s different from his fellow aliens, in that he has emotions he doesn’t quite know how to deal with. His search for understanding leads him to the humans, and one woman in particular. Here’s a little excerpt featuring his first kiss with the girl he hopes will prove to be his Resonance Mate – the one woman whose love will keep him sane as his emotions switch into high gear…

Bianca D'Arc's World: The Writing Process

Posted by Bianca D'Arc, 01/30/08 03:01 PM

So it’s my day to say something wise and profound on the Samhain blog. Sorry, I’m fresh out of wise and profound. I think I used it all up writing my next book. ;-) What I can talk about is writing itself – the process in particular. So what follows are a few observations on the writing life and my writing process in particular.

Sweeter Than Wine by Bianca D'Arc...

Posted by Bianca D'Arc, 12/11/07 10:49 AM

Sweeter Than Wine cover...releases today! I’m really excited to see this book come out. For one thing, it’s the followup to Lords of the Were that everyone always asks me about. While it’s not a direct “sequel” per se, some of the characters from Lords of the Were make an appearance, and we also meet several great new characters as well. While concentrating a little more on the vampire society I’ve written about in the past, this book ties together my vamps and weres in a very tangible way. And another special bonus is that when you finish this story, the love story that follows chronologically after it – Ian and Jena’s story – is already out and available in both print (Caught by Cupid anthology) and in ebook (Forever Valentine).

Slowing Down to Take a Look Around

Posted by Bianca D'Arc, 10/20/07 05:00 AM

The 2nd anniversary of Samhain Publishing is fast approaching and along with it, the 2nd anniversary of my involvement with this great company. I signed my first contract with Samhain in late 2005, not really appreciating at the time, what a big step I was taking. Sure, I knew one of my favorite authors, Lora Leigh, was slated to have one of the first books out in January of 2006, but other than that, I was just happy to have a publishing contract for what was to be my first-ever dragon story.

Prince of Spies in Print!

Posted by Bianca D'Arc, 09/16/07 12:00 AM

Prince of Spies CoverPrince Nico is known as the Prince of Spies for a reason. Not only is he the Spymaster of Draconia, but he’s a cunning shapeshifter able to take the form of a dragon at will. The gift of his royal heritage comes in handy as Spymaster for the king, but it’s a great secret known only to a few… (excerpt follows, so read on) :)

Wings of Change Flies Today!

Posted by Bianca D'Arc, 09/11/07 08:00 AM

Wings Of Change CoverWings of Change marks the beginning of a new era for my ongoing Dragon Knights series, and I’m thrilled to have it be part of such an outstanding anthology of dragon stories by some amazing authors. While the first four of my Dragon Knights tales have focused on the love stories of a mother and her three grown daughters, with Wings of Change the story shifts a bit to examine the males of Draconia. In future installments, we’ll be concentrating more on the knights of the royal household and how they discover special women to share their lives. The women will be a little more kick-ass, the men even hotter (if that’s even possible), and the magic more thrilling and pervasive.

Future Worlds: Hara's Legacy by Bianca D'Arc

Posted by Bianca D'Arc, 05/29/07 07:07 AM

What will life be like in the future? That’s a question that has fascinated me since I was a little girl watching Star Trek re-runs with my Dad. I guess I thought about it more than most average kids because my Dad is a scientist and while I was growing up, he was working on projects for the space program. As a result, I’ve always had a fascination with the idea of what people 100 or even 1000 years in the future would be like and how they would live.

My latest release from Samhain – Hara’s Legacy – is the start of a new series that will explore one of my “what if” scenarios: What if aliens invaded our planet and we lived to tell the tale? Of course, being a romance writer, I had to examine our emotional interraction with the alien culture and since this is set in the not-too-distant future, I thought it would be cool to have the people be more gifted than your average person. Oh, yeah, and the men are totally hot, rugged in a cowboy way, and caring of their lady’s feelings. Hey, it’s my own little world, after all! LOL.

I think what I’ve discovered in exploring this particular “what if” scenario is that the old axiom still holds true: Love conquers all. Even the conquerers.

I’m looking forward to hearing what you all think of this book. I’ll be having a big multi-author excerpt party on my yahoo group tomorrow, May 30th, to celebrate this release, so drop by if you have a few minutes at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BiancaDArc/

Hope to see you there!

A Bit About Dragons

Posted by Bianca D'Arc, 03/07/07 08:19 AM

They have the wings and clawed limbs of Western style dragons combined with the magical mystery of the East. Of course, I decided to partner them with some really hot, well-built and chivalrous knights. And the maidens fair? Well, they’re not all helpless victims. Some of them may be innocent, but they’re never meek. Some kick butt alongside their men and stand up to the fearsome dragons. And a special few of the dragons are shapeshifters, able to walk as humans or fly as dragons, at will.

Prince of Spies & Other Dragony Goodness

Posted by Bianca D'Arc, 02/06/07 05:50 AM

My first time posting to this blog. I’m taking the opportunity to let you all know my newest book, Prince of Spies, relased today. It’s Book 4 of my Dragon Knights series, but it can easily be read on its own. The tagline reads: “Prince Nico is a cunning master of stealth, but can he master a maiden’s fragile heart?” Sounds adventurous, no? LOL

I’m also having a little party on my yahoo group today to celebrate the release, which is why I’m a little later posting here than I’d wished. Sorry. Consider this an invitation to come over and join the fun. My group is at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BiancaDArc/
