Nurturing Young Readers

Posted by Elisa Adams, 01/25/07 01:33 AM

I’ve always loved reading. Books have been a big part of my life, from the short story collection my grandmother used to read to my brother and I, to my teenage years when I read every Stephen King and Dean Koontz book I could get my hands on, and on to a few years ago when I discovered romance novels. Even now, I finish a few books a week. It was a natural thing for me to read to my children from the time they were babies until the time it became “too uncool” for them to have their mother read to them. I still remember the summers we spent at the library, checking out as many books from the children’s room as our library cards would allow.
