Poison

Posted by Joely Skye, 05/06/08 10:45 AM

My new book, a futuristic m/m romance entitled Poison is now on sale at My Bookstore and More!

Here’s the blurb:

In this world, trust is hard to find…and the one thing they need to survive.

Tobias Smator lives down his late father’s execution by avoiding the spotlight—and responsibility. He doesn’t mind what people think of him as long as they leave him alone. Still, in this unremarkable half-life he’s fashioned for himself on deceptively low-tech Rimania, he’s not safe from political intrigue. Someone wants him dead.

Alliance operative Geln Marac’s orders for his first assignment were simple: Stay uninvolved. Those orders go out the window, however, when he delivers an antidote to save Tobias from death by poisoning. His reward? Possible betrayal that lands him in the hands of police interrogators. To protect the Alliance, Geln resorts to a temporary mindwipe.

Tobias is fascinated by the amnesiac man who saved his life. But Geln has attracted the attention of the high-powered Lord Eberly, who would use him as a pawn. Rather than sacrifice Geln to the political wolves, Tobias chooses to embrace his heritage.

Geln’s memory reawakens to a precarious situation with no source of protection—except Tobias. There’s only one way forward for both of them.

Trust—or die.

Warning: this book contains hot nekkid otherplanetary manlove.

Marked

Posted by Joely Skye, 12/04/07 09:00 AM

I love werewolves, reading them and writing them. This book, Marked, is loosely related to my Jorrie Spencer werewolf books: The Strength of the Pack and The Strength of the Wolf. But it also stands completely on its own.

You can buy Marked here.
My Joely Skye website is here.

BLURB:
Marked as prey, Alec refuses to fall for a werewolf. Until he’s forced to turn to Liam for protection.

Alec Ryerson carries a scar over his heart and scars on his psyche, ugly reminders of a nightmare that still doesn’t seem quite real. Even a year later, he stays inside on full-moon nights and avoids most people—until he meets the strange and beautiful Liam.

Liam feels an undeniable pull toward Alec. However Liam is a werewolf; Alec is a human who clearly has trepidations about a relationship. Then Liam discovers he is not the first werewolf Alec has encountered. Alec has been marked for death by the murderous “quad”, a group of twisted werewolves who prey on humans. Now the quad’s sights are set on recruiting Liam’s eight-year-old brother into their murderous pack.

Liam will do everything in his power to protect both his brother and Alec from the wolves, even if it means calling in favors and killing those with whom he once ran.

Because Alec, like it or not, is Liam’s chosen mate.

Warning, this title contains the following: explicit male/male sex.

Beautiful Monster

Beautiful Monster
This month, my novel Beautiful Monster is released by Samhain. I’m thrilled! It’s comprised of my three novellas Monster, Zombie and Minder. And it has a beautiful new cover which I had to share here.

Blurb: Josh Mackay is hired to bring in Kiran Brunner, a Minder with the psychic ability to manipulate and kill. But Kir has been abused by the agency that wants him back and he’ll do anything to escape.

Josh Mackay’s job is to lure Kiran Brunner to a safe house. That part’s easy. The boy—Minder or no—is beautiful and surprisingly naive. Hunted by those who want to harm him, Kir doesn’t recognize Josh’s trap until it is almost too late. Kir gets his hooks in Josh and when his job is done, Josh cannot walk away. Not only because of what Kir is, but because of why the agency wants Kir back. Josh wants above all to protect Kir. But Josh doesn’t know if that’s the right thing to do, or if he’s unknowingly succumbed to the Minder’s control. Kir knows better than to fall hard for a new enemy, but it doesn’t stop him from wanting, needing and loving Josh. However, Kir may not be able to save Josh, and himself, from those who wish them harm. The time will come when Kir is forced to use his powers against the agency to bring Josh back to safety, whether Josh trusts him or not.

Excerpt:

“Just down the road,” said Josh as they left the bike path and entered suburbia. There they rode side by side. Kir gazed with open admiration at the upscale houses they passed. Which amused Josh, or would have if he wasn’t wound so tight. The endgame was in sight.

Minder by Joely Skye

I’m excited about the release of my third book, as it completes the story of Kir and Josh. In Minder, the two heroes get their well-deserved happily ever after. The excerpt below is mildly spoilerish if you haven’t read the first two books, Monster and Zombie, but it doesn’t reveal too much. The three books in the series are listed at Samhain here.

The time has come for Kir to use his powers to destroy the agency and bring Josh back to safety.
