Writing Challenges
I’m a writing challenge drop-out. NaNoWriMo, 70 Days of Sweat, even challenges at Romance Divas are, well, a challenge.
Winter blahs
Anyone get the winter blahs? (Not to be confused with, man is the holiday season ever going to be over angst!?) It probably won’t surprise anyone to hear I really don’t like winter. Heck, I live in southern Alabama partly to avoid snow. Plus I hate being cold. (My west coast friends have spent months warning me about Nationals this year. Bring a sweater? Really? In July/Aug? Considering I was the only person I know not complaining about the heat in Atlanta or Dallas, I’ll have to defer to their wisdom in this case.)
A Room of One's Own
Virginia Woolf had it right when she suggested we needed space and money of our own in order to write fiction. Can you write without these two things? Oh sure. But I have a much finer appreciation of both now that I’ve finally (after seven years raising babies at home) gone back to work. There are a few things I’d add to Woolf though.
All dressed up
and nothing to post! I just returned from a week of vacation (in Savannah for the curious), took a look at the calendar, and thought, uh oh. I need to go be witty or provocative or something this morning! My brain is not quite up to it right now.
Fireworks Release
Fireworks by Loribelle Hunt
Can Shane convince Jessie he’s the only man for her before her stalker attempts to end both their lives?
Life imitating art
My current work in progress is set in the middle of a hurricane. The storm is a major part of the plot and having ridden out quite a few hurricanes, I think I’ve made it pretty intense. I’ve enjoyed the story. I love the characters and their completely dysfunctional relationships. Heck, I even like the storm. And I was sure I was going to finish it Thursday.
