Not Your Every Day Hero: A Taste of Honey goes into print!

Posted by Lynette Rees, 02/17/08 01:02 PM

When I sat down to think about the characters in my new book, A Taste of Honey, one thing I knew for certain was that for this story, I wanted my hero to be a little different to the usual Alpha Male type of hero.

In essence, I wanted him to be a quirky, doesn’t-play-by-the-rules, kind of guy. I knew with certainty that he wouldn’t have bulging biceps or a rippling six pack. On the other hand, I also realised he’d be no wimp. He’d be able to handle himself in a crisis and would fight tooth and nail for the woman he loved.

His look wouldn’t be conventional either:

Travis O’Connell isn’t a health fanatic. He wears a combat jacket, rolls his own cigarettes, drinks Guinness, has a tattoo of a dolphin on his backside, sports a goatee and he’s a trained chef. Oh, and I forgot to tell you, he lives in a caravan on a run down site, where his best friends are a stray dog called, Buster, and a next door neighbour named, Marge, who has a large brood of children to care for after being dumped by her lorry driving husband some years back.

Travis needs a job – yesterday. Fran Santini, the heroine, is about to encounter him in the most humiliating way. She won’t forget this guy in a hurry, and hopefully, neither will you!

A Taste of Honey Releases Today!

Posted by Lynette Rees, 04/03/07 02:07 PM

Well, the big day is here at last, my first Samhain novel, ‘A Taste of Honey’ has been released! I am over the moon. I got the idea for the book after reading an article in a national newspaper about women who worked as honey trappers for an agency. The objective being to set up men for their partners to check out their fidelity. I got to thinking, what if one of these ladies set up the wrong guy? And so a novel was born:

Honey is not far from the sting.
