Change of Seasons... Change of Genre?

Posted by Marie-Nicole Ryan, 10/04/08 03:00 PM

Here in Nashville, September was a heavenly month. Autumn Harbinger of ChangeIt was mild and more than a tad dry, but it was beautiful. Now all of a sudden, it’s October. Leaves are turning and falling, the mornings are cool and I start to think about turning on the heat to take off the early chill.

Posted by Marie-Nicole Ryan, 09/21/08 07:00 AM

Love on the Run coverThis book has had a couple of lives. It was first released by Wings ePress and it was my very first published book as well. Since then it’s been revised and a couple of scenes added, in addition to being re-edited in its Samhain Publishing incarnation.

View From a Writer's Window...

From my home office I have a pleasant and sometimes inspiring view. ButterflyIt’s a quiet cul-de-sac where everyone’s yard is immaculate, except maybe mine at times. After all, I’m an indoor gal and taking a walk on a windy day without a headscarf or hat is my idea of roughing it.

Holding Her Own

Posted by Marie-Nicole Ryan, 07/15/08 07:01 AM

Holding Her OwnI just have to give a shout out to my editor, Linda Ingmanson. Without her this book wouldn’t be the strong story and romance it is today. Thank you for believing in these characters and me.

ONE TOO MANY RELEASE DAY

Posted by Marie-Nicole Ryan, 05/27/08 03:58 PM

I’m not sure why I set out to write a mystery/suspense, ONE TOO MANY, except to say David and Randi wanted to come out for another adventure. They are two of my favorite characters: Randi with her down-to-earth sense of fun and her fear of flying and David with his determination to protect the woman he loves at all costs. It’s told in first person when in Randi’s POV and third for everyone else’s.

Perseverance

Posted by Marie-Nicole Ryan, 04/26/08 06:00 AM

The Oxford Dictionary of Word Histories defines perseverance as Middle English. Latin persevare ‘abide by strictly’, from perseverus ‘very strict’ is the source of both perseverance (from Old French, From Latin perseverantia) and late Middle English persevere (from Old French perseverer). And now that I’ve put you to sleep…

What Says Comfort Food To You?

Posted by Marie-Nicole Ryan, 01/18/08 05:00 AM

What says comfort food to you? Usually it’s something your mother made—your very favorite dish—when you were a child. One of my favorite comfort foods from childhood is roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy. But now that I’m a grownup, I have another comfort food: homemade vegetable soup.

Love on the Run

I’ve always had a fondness for British mysteries and the LOTR coverDetective Inspectors of New Scotland Yard. There’s Inspector Morse, not exactly a romantic hero, but a wonderfully flawed one, nonetheless. Then there’s Detective Inspector Thomas Lynley of Elizabeth George’s wonderful series. And I can’t forget Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby of the Midsomer Murder series by Caroline Graham.

Writing and the Undeniable Urge to Create

Posted by Marie-Nicole Ryan, 10/10/07 02:00 PM

You’ve heard the old question: which comes first—the chicken or the egg? To translate this into terms I care about—which came first—writing or the undeniable urge to create something…anything?

Too Good To Be True print release September 25th.

Posted by Marie-Nicole Ryan, 09/23/07 05:00 AM

It’s always exciting to have a new book released, even more TooGoodwhen you’ve waited six months after the electronic release. I hope you readers will find Rilla and Mac’s story fun as well as exciting. Too Good To Be True was based on an actual incident which occurred here in Tennessee several years ago. A sheriff was gunned down in his own driveway. I elected to take this incident and develop my story around it.
