My changing faces

I must admit that I’m a bit sad to see Halloween come to an end. It’s one of my favorite holidays — always has been. I love the way our thoughts turn to the supernatural this time of year. I love the candy…the decorations. But what I love most of all is the opportunity it gives me to openly display my other personalities through costume and make-up.

Going too far?

I’m starting to wonder if I’m getting too far into my characters’ heads. Is that even possible? After all, many writer’s seminars and lectures about “deep point of view” implore us to get in there and really feel those emotions. So this should be a good thing. Right?

Maybe yes, maybe no.

Super Discrimination

Comic books have long been a man’s domain — or so they say.

Most are written by men; drawn by men if the stacked and half-naked female characters are any indication; and read or at least marketed toward men. Yeah, okay, we have Jughead, Sabrina, Wonder Woman and the Archies, but come on! A lot of girls want hot heros in spandex!

Five Life Lessons

I like to think I’ve learned a lot throughout my life — usually as a result of choices made, bad or good.

Some learning experiences I could have done without, ie: A pot will catch on fire once the water boils away & it’s really difficult to clean fire-extinguisher gunk out of a stovetop. Other lessons I wouldn’t change for anything. Most of the latter revolve around my family.

Alaina's PromiseOf a book in print is close to a spiritual experience for me … especially when that book is my own. My historical romance, ALAINA’S PROMISE, is now available with its full-color, gorgeous cover!

Alaina’s Promise
By, Meg Allison

Alaina's Promise

When Alaina Ryan promised to take her father home to die, she never dreamed he wished her to marry a stranger.

After surviving the War Between the States and a violent attack, she’s unable to stand the thought of a man’s touch. But her betrothed awakens new feelings and Alaina finds herself trusting him despite her fears.

Torin O’Brien regrets his misspent youth and the death of his first love. Unwilling to burden another with the shadow cast over his life, he refuses to consider marriage. Then Alaina’s beauty and sweet nature tempt him beyond measure, and his resolve is sorely tested.

But what kind of life can they share if no one trusts a man accused of murder?

He's how old?!?!?

One thing I’ve noticed lately is the number of extremely hot actors and singers appearing in the world. Often, I’ve caught myself staring … sighing a little … with a wistful look on my face, I’m sure. And then it hits me. Most of these hot young dudes are just that —- YOUNG! Way too young for me.
