Mist slowly creeps across the ground, snaking around the headstones. The moon, nearly full, is almost completely obscured by clouds drifting across its face. The air is crisp. The night is alive with the whistle of the wind as it caresses each weathered white stone, etched with the name of the poor soul who lies beneath. A Writer By Any Other Name

Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary defines a writer as “one who writes.” It sounds simple enough, yet this word has many more connotations and society, over time, has imbued it with a much deeper meaning. Perhaps that is why I’ve had such a hard time claiming the title as my own.
