What a Glorious Feeling
I never thought I would make it this far. I thought getting published would be something I could never attain. It was my ultimate goal: have a book published before I died.
Well, I did that and it feels great.
I Hate Blurbing!
Well, maybe hate is too strong of a word, but I really don’t like it.
How am I supposed to sum up my 60 K plus novel into just a few hundred words? A synopsis is a bit better, but not by much. At least with those, I can write more than a couple paragraphs.
That’s the dilemma I am faced with today.
NaNoWriMo--Torture, Bliss, or a Bit of Both?
If you asked me last year if I would ever do the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) challenge in November, I would’ve laughed. I would never try to limit myself to writing so many words in a few weeks. Impossible.
Well, I did it this year. Currently, I am on day 26th of the 30 day writing spree, working my way to 50k.
Hunter's Moon--IN PRINT!
Every writer has that one book in their career they have trouble writing. Maybe it’s the plot, or the characters, or the way the story is progressing, but there’s something that seems to pull the author away from the work.
Hunter’s Moon was the book for me.
Bookaholics Not So Anonymous
How many books do you have lying around? How many are stored on your computer or e-book reader? Take a moment to evaluate that, then ask yourself: Am I a bookaholic?
Rose Marie Contemplates the Blank Page
In the beginning there is a blank page. It’s such a simple thing, but very empty. It’s daunting. It’s scary.
And here you are, attempting to fill it with an idea that’s been floating around your head. How can you turn this blank page into a book? Is it even possible?
Blood Moon, IN PRINT May 27th
That’s right. Blood Moon, Book Two of the Moon Series will be available in print on May 27th. Finally, the continuation of Jason and Rose’s adventure in a tangible format!
This is my second novel in print. I love print books—the way they feel, the way the smell, the fact you can hold it in your hand. E-books are great and all that, but print books will always have a special place in my heart.
Now Blood Moon can sit on the shelf with Sweet Moon Dreams and I can gaze upon them fondly, proudly.
Hey, I've Read That Movie!
When I found out I was guest blogging here at Samhain, I had no idea what I was going to blog about. I racked my brain, trying to come up with some idea. Then, last week I went to see The Other Boleyn Girl in theatres and discovered there was something I wanted to talk about.
Books adapted for film.
How do you feel about books adapted for film? Have you ever come across one that was so horrible? How about one that was really good? Please leave a comment and let us all know!
Hunter's Moon, Book Three of the Moon Series, Available Now
It’s here! Hunter’s Moon is finally available in e-book from Samhain Publishing.
This is the third book in the Moon Series and further chronicles Jason and Rose’s journey. It’s been three years since the events in Blood Moon and things have gotten a lot hairier (pun intended) for the werewolf heroes. Jason has been having strange dreams and Rose, distraught by his obsession with the past, struggles to keep their relationship strong—which is soon becoming a losing battle.
The Joys of Rewrites
It’s been a long arduous journey—weeks, months, maybe even years in the making—but you’ve done it. You’ve finally finished your book. And whether it’s your first or your twenty-first, you know what has to be done next…
Rewrites.
