Age Differences
In a recent copy of Entertainment Weekly, I noticed a number of the blurbs in the marriages/divorces/births section showed a significant age difference between the man and woman, in both directions. This is fascinating to me, because I’ve long wanted to write an older woman/younger man story, but can never make myself write them more than 8 years apart. Still, the conflicts that can arise stir my writer’s juices.
It's in His Kiss
I think the “Shoop Shoop Song” really gets it right. Whether I’m holding a romance in my hands or watching it on the big screen, I’m always waiting for the moment when the couple comes together. When the chemistry is sizzling and I’m on the edge of my seat, anticipating that first kiss. Or maybe it’s their last or one in between. Sweet kisses, hungry ones, kissing in the rain, kisses loaded with conflict and tension or the soft, barely-there brush of lips. I love em’ all.
How well do you know your romantic movies?
My son’s girlfriend did a posting over on Facebook the other day that intrigued me. So when I found out I had today’s post, I figured I’d follow her lead and get you involved in today’s post. Below you’ll find 25 quotes from my favorite romantic movies, one or two of which I’ll probably be cuddling up to my husband with tonight since, for the first time in years, both our sons are out of the house.
If you know the movie associated with the quote, leave a comment with the number and the title. As someone guesses correctly I’ll cross them off the list and put your name beside the quote. If you’re like me you’ll read them and think “I know what that’s from, I’ve seen it, but what’s the title?”
Murder, anyone?
I love a good murder.
Okay, there really isn’t such a thing as a “good” murder, even if the victim is hated by one and all. But I find myself enthralled on a daily basis by tales of crime and mayhem on either television or in books.
Abandonment Issues
They cancelled Pushing Daisies, David Tennant is leaving Doctor Who, Stargate Atlantis is in its last season, and even in the face of True Blood, I’m still mourning Blood Ties. I’m suffering serious abandonment issues here folks.
